Our Research Focus

Assistant Provost Dr. Elsa Gonzalez directs a $1.26 million CAREER Award from the National Science Foundation to identify factors that affect the success of Latina STEM majors at Hispanic-serving institutions like Texas A&M University, University of Houston, and Texas A&M – Corpus Christi. The study will guide the development of evidence-based mentoring strategies to support Latina STEM majors’ resilience, persistence, and graduation nationwide.

Coming Soon!

Our Servingness Research Leadership program is currently under development! Check back soon for updates to our new initiative. The goal of our new research program is to understand and explore practices of academic servingness for students and faculty at Texas A&M. Projects under this program will address research questions by involving stakeholders, particularly capturing student and faculty voices to understand what servingness and service mean to them at the university. The findings will guide the development of practices that assure a successful experience of all our students at Texas A&M.
